Lucas Michelson
Luke grew up in a musical household, starting violin lessons at age 7 while his dad, Steve Michelson, would accompany him. He took Suzuki violin lessons throughout his childhood, branching out to other genres (rock/jazz) and instruments (bass) in high school. Attending music school at University of Montana, he continued to study classical and jazz bass as well as pursue other genres outside the university. Some of the rock projects he was involved in were Elysium and the Flying Rickshaw. After attending music school he got a technology degree in networking from the Helena College of Technology. He now lives in Helena with his wife and 6 animals, studying and pursuing musical ventures part time while working a day job doing IT work. Apart from gigging with the Justin Case Band quite often, he is also part of a host of other Helena bands including The Cottonwood Club, The David Casey Group, The Usual Suspects, The Marchador Four, The Wilbur Rehman Quintet as well as other jazz projects.
